Eco-design overview:

This eco-development in Central Europe provides luxury apartments as part of a mixed-used development on a site with imposing views to the North.

The key aspects of the project we are demonstrating here are:

• Luxury apartment design

• Free natural cooling

• Free natural ventilation

Eco-design principles are considered from early on in the concept design stage and they are designed to bring the following benefits:

Occupiers:

• A more comfortable environment - naturally cooler in summer and warmer in winter with additional cooling and heating when required.
• Lower energy bills.
• Reduced impact of pollution - apartments sealing themselves from poor air quality when pollution levels are high.
• Reduced impact on the environment with the use of natural heating, cooling and ventilation.

1	Views and natural heating, cooling and ventilation: All apartments benefit from excellent views to the sea and from natural ventilation.
2	Single-storey apartment blocks: Some apartment blocks have luxury apartments on single storeys - a more traditional approach.
3	Double-story apartment blocks: Some apartment blocks have luxury two-storey apartments - giving additional space and a sense of extra luxury.
4	VAX system: All apartments have the VAX units installed, which enables a cost-effective natural way of heating, cooling and ventilating the apartments.
5	Pollution control: The VAX system enables fresh clean air to be supplied to the apartments when levels of pollution are too high.
6	Home automation systems: Every apartment is provided with the latest technology for home automation and comfort.
