The apartments are designed to benefit from the cool air at night time to provide comfort during the day. We recognise however that sometimes high levels of pollution mean that external air quality is not good enough to use to cool down an apartment. We have therefore designed into the system the ability to close-down the building envelope and draw air in through filters to reduce the impact on the levels of pollution inside the building.
To reduce air-borne pollution, the VAX system closes down fresh-air intakes and supplies clean filtered air through the VAX system.
